Year Four at Coquet Park
Who are we?
Hello! We are Year Four and we are the oldest class in the school. We have lots of extra responsibilities and we help our teachers with jobs. We also take special care of the children in reception class when they are playing in the playground, especially when they first start school. In Year Four we begin to take more responsibility for our own learning and we try to work out how we learn best. We celebrate achievement in all areas and recognise that we are all unique and each of us has a special talent.
What do we do in class?
In Year 4 we follow a broad creative curriculum following the National Curriculum objectives. We do Maths and English every day and also study many topics including the Victorians, Transport, Electricity, Habitats and more. We enjoy doing projects where we carry out our own research and deliver presentations to the class. The highlight of Year Four is when we have our residential activity week. This year we are going to Kielder. We know it is a very enjoyable week where we will learn lots of new skills and try out fun and adventurous activities.
What about P.E and Library?
Year Four P.E. days are Wednesday and Friday. In the Autumn Term we have swimming lessons. We have regular teaching by specialist coaches in gymnastics, rugby, football and basketball.
Friday is Library Day when we take a book home from the school library.
